“Farmers’ Market and Entertainment Center
Start-up Planning Project
Greene Commons Group is seeking the services of a contractor/consultant to assist with the planning for a new community facility in Greene County Virginia. The center will include a market pavilion, performance stage and a park adjacent to the Town of Stanardsville, the County seat. The site will become a popular farmers’ market and entertainment center, a community park and be rented for other uses such as wine and food festivals, weddings, church gatherings and reunions.
This planning project is an exciting opportunity for a person with the right skills, an appreciation for small towns, a passion for farmers’ markets and a love of music. The project should begin in July and last through next May.
The contractor’s assignment will include collaborating with farmers, craftspeople, concessionaires, musicians and local organizations to develop and implement a wide range of organizational, marketing and financial planning activities critical to a successful launch of the market in early 2019.
The ideal contractor/consultant will have had prior experience with organization and event planning, marketing, farmers’ markets and concert promotion. The hourly fee for services will be in the range of $25.00 to $35.00, depending on qualifications. There will be a modest expense budget for travel and marketing material testing. The project will report to a management team and the Board of Directors of Greene Commons Group. There is the possible opportunity to assume the role of operations manager at the end of a successful project.
