Chamber Board Schedules Events for February, March By Jay Crawford STANARDSVILLE (January 2006) - During its January meeting, the Greene County Chamber of Commerce announced a pair of activities for February and March. On Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5-7 p.m., the local Chamber will join the Greater Charlottesville Chamber in a "Chamber Social" at the Virginia Company, located on Spotswood Trail in Stanardsville. The event is free to Chamber members. The Virginia Company specializes in gourmet Virginia foods and gifts, while the local Chambers specialize in providing opportunities for business discovery and networking. Additional information may be obtained by calling the Virginia Company at 985-9709, or by sending e-mail to greenecoc@gmail.com. Then, on the first day of March, from 7-8 a.m., the Greene County Chamber will host its first networking breakfast at the Blue Ridge Café on U.S. 29 in Ruckersville. Chamber officials hope to make the networking breakfasts a monthly event, which will alternate between the Blue Ridge Café and the Lafayette, located on Main Street in Stanardsville. These events will be open to Chamber members only. Members, who should be prepared with a fistful of business cards and a short presentation about their company, will be seated randomly at tables, where each will be given time to give their presentation and make contacts. Throughout the breakfasts, members will network around all of the tables, providing opportunities for approximately 25 business connections. There is a $10 fee for the networking breakfasts and reservations are recommended. For additional information on the networking breakfasts or reservations, call Marianne Shepard at 990-8377 or send e-mail to greenecoc@gmail.com. For additional information concerning membership into the Greene County Chamber of Commerce, call Ruth Parsons at 434-245-1536 or send e-mail to rparsons@investdavenport.com. |
