Upcoming Networking Breakfast Meeting
March 3rd, 2010
Be sure to register for The next Chamber Networking Breakfast to be held at the
Lafayette Inn.
from 8am - 9am.
Chuck Boles of THE Chuck & BUDDY COLLEGE of Business Knowledge
will explore a critical step in creating a business "exit strategy"; that of performing a simple business valuation which will give you an estimate of the value of your business.
With 45+ years business experience, his experience ranges from executive management positions in multiple geographical markets to creating and operating his own company. Armed with a "boatload" of professional designations and industry designations, he is passionate about helping owners of small to medium sized businesses create and implement sustainable survival strategies.
HOMEWORK - Bring an average for the most recent 5 years' GROSS INCOME and GROSS EXPENSES for your business ... if you don't have information for the most recent 5 years, then bring the most recent 3 years.
This will just be a short presentation of a course he teaches and/or snapshot of what he delivers when retained to do a full business consult. As such, to manage expectations, members should come ready to learn a "nugget" and from there you can determine to pursue additional assistance if desired.
February Meeting Proceeds To Help Haiti!
Although the February meeting was cancelled, we are pleased to announce that all collected funds
were donated to the American Red Cross.
Bad Weather Policy
We will cancel this meeting if the Greene County Schools are closed on Wednesday and there will not be a re-schedule date.

January Networking Breakfast Meeting Recap

Richard Busofsky, of the accounting firm Hantzmon Wiebel LLC, presented a very informative outline detailing tax considerations for small businesses. He also discussed some new changes to keep in mind, including business use mileage for vehicles.
Richard stressed the importance of communicating with ones' accountant throughout the year in order to keep them updated on any changes that need to be documented at tax time.
Chamber members appreciated the detailed, yet easy to understand outline, which also included important quarterly deadlines throughout the year.
